Always have had the opportunity to lead and manage a team at different organizations. Thoroughly enjoy the responsibilities and seems like it comes naturally to me. No, it's not a self-proclaimed statement, it's from all the people who have worked with me :)
So here is how I do it.

Upskill
Before expecting anything from my team I expect myself to
know and learn the art well. I do believe that people see more than they listen. Continuously up skilling myself is my topmost priority.

Happiness
No unnecessary extra hours, having food on time, taking collective decisions, being upfront with expectations and walking through solutions together gets my team halfway through the tasks already.

Failure
I know that much worse than failure is not trying at all.
From failure you learn and from failure you find answers.

Team
I have learnt from captaining cricket matches that the team that stays together, players who put their team first and individual contribution second win you matches. Make the team stick and enjoy the result.
